Riku clear textured glass is manufactured by Duncan Glass. Riku is Japanese for "the agony of separation" and describes the act of texturing glass by surface sculpting. During the process a faceted texture is created by the aggressive, almost explosive, removal of glass shards from one surface.
The result is an organic pattern continually being redefined by the changing nature of light. It's the effect that light has on the faceted surface created during the sculpting process that produces the constant subtle visual movement. It's this interaction with light that separates Riku textured, architectural glass, from virtually all other types of textured glass.
For over 20 years every beautiful piece of Riku Glass has been hand crafted to meet the high standard of quality and consistency that has made Riku Glass the premier surface sculpted glass in the world.
