Should I have the edges of the glass polished?

When glass is cut, the exposed edges of the glass are rough and can be extremely sharp. If all of the edges are recessed into a frame, polishing is not required.

Glass shelves or tables with exposed edges should be polished. The polishing process leaves the edges of the glass smooth and gives the glass a finished appearance. If all of the edges of the glass are not exposed, you may choose to polish only the edges of the glass that will be exposed.
